Bohol's Prony The Python Died

The largest Python in captivity in Bohol, Philippines, died yesterday August 14, 2013 still unknown of the cause. The female python  was 17 years old, and named after Sofronio who captured her. 

Prony weighed about 600 pounds and measured 23 feet. The center of her body was measured at 34 inches. She was captured on October 31, 1996 in Alburquerque, Bohol, known as Albur, about twelve kilometers to the east of the City of Tagbilaran.
